blue door studio presents 2009 Workshop Schedule

The blue door studio offers one and two day workshops in encaustic paint, collage techniques and altered book construction.

 

June 8 - SOLD OUT!
One Day Encaustic Workshop

9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

                                   

Encaustic painting techniques use pigment with warm wax to create a textural affect on any number of surfaces.  The class covers layering and scraping techniques, creating textures, stamping, incorporating collage and transfers.

Collage and the Altered Book

9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

 

Using a variety of collage techniques transform an old (or new) book into a work of art.  Techniques include mixed media collage, transferring images from photocopies, stamping, painting, and embellishing.

 

Limit:  5 students

Cost:  $80.00


June 12

Bookmaking

9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

 

Create a variety of blank books to use for journaling, art, or note-taking.  Techniques include the accordion fold, Japanese stab binding, working with signatures and a piano hinge book.  Consideration will be given to cover design as well.

 

Limit:  5 students

Cost:  $70.00
